Ashwaubenon Public Safety was one of 28 emergency response agencies to receive a grant from the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation Monday.
The grant will go towards new water rescue equipment and safety tools.
"We've been waiting for this for a while and we've had some training with De Pere Fire and Rescue to prepare for this," said Randy Tews, Ashwaubenon Fire and EMS operations. "All we needed was the equipment and now we have that."
Thermal imaging cameras, water rescue suits and tools, weather radios and police tactical gear are among the items this year's grants will help fund.
