Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that happened Tuesday afternoon.
Officers and emergency crews responded to the crash at around 3:48 p.m. on the 900 block of E. Randall Avenue. Police say a man appeared to have been thrown from a motorcycle and was found lying in the roadway.
First responders immediately began to administer lifesaving efforts to the individual. A short time later, the motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital.
The operator of the motorcycle, a 35 year-old man from Appleton, was pronounced dead at the hospital. Police are not releasing the man's identity until family has been notified.
Investigators of the Appleton Police Department are being assisted by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
Due to the crash investigation, westbound traffic in 1000 block of E. Wisconsin Avenue has been
temporarily closed. It will reopen upon completion of photographs and evidence collection.
