MARINETTE (NBC26) — A Marinette police officer was recognized for bravery following a drowning in August.

Officer Jake Jagielski received the Valor Award from the department, according to a Facebook post.

On Aug. 23, Jakob Bowerman, 13, drowned in the Menominee River near Government Pier. Two people were arrested following the incident.
