HOWARD (NBC 26) — According to a new press release from the Brown County Sheriff's Office:
Authorities say deputies responded to Pamperin Park Monday after reports of a man possibly carrying a weapon.
Witnesses told investigators they saw the man talking on his phone as he walked away from a vehicle toward a wooded part of the park.
Officials describe the situation as an isolated incident, adding there is no threat to the public.
They say more details may be released once family notifications are complete and the medical examiner’s report is available.
There is a large police presence at Pamperin Park Monday afternoon as police is responding to a weapons call, according to the Brown County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies say the situation is under control and there is no threat to the public.
The park is closed to the public until further notice, sheriffs said.
