HOWARD (NBC26) — A longstanding grocery store in Howard is shutting its doors.

An employee at Piggly Wiggly confirmed to NBC 26 that the store would close by March 28. The employee said staff were informed of the closure on Friday.

The store is owned by Piggly Wiggly Midwest, based in Sheboygan. We reached out to their parent company, C&S Wholesale Grocers. In a statement to NBC 26, C&S Grocers said:

"I can confirm that Piggly Wiggly Midwest Howard store located at 2465 Lineville Rd, Green Bay, Wisconsin 54313 is closing. It is a long-standing practice of C&S Wholesale Grocers not to comment on questions concerning structure changes. However, I can tell you that C&S continuously looks for ways to create value for our customers and accelerate our ability to deliver best-in-class services. We remain committed to satisfying our customers’ needs to the fullest and are dedicated to taking the necessary actions to achieve our overall strategic priorities that drive our long-term growth."
