A 27-year-old woman was in a Sheboygan County courtroom to face charges of first-degree intentional homicide and move/hide/bury corpse of a child, in the death of a 2-year-old boy.

Police say the woman, Katlyn Kinateder, killed her 2-year-old son after an incident late last week.

According to a criminal complaint, Sheboygan Falls Police received a 911 call about a child that had been strangled and killed in an apartment on Woodview Avenue.

When police arrived at the apartment they found a woman with a knife at the top of the stairway to the apartment. After the woman ignored the officers' demands to drop the knife she walked down the stairs and exited the residence. She eventually put the knife down and laid down on the ground, but had to be tased after she tried standing up when an officer was attempting to handcuff her.

When police were able to enter the apartment they found the body of the 2-year-old boy in a cardboard box that had been stacked at the bottom of two other cardboard boxes. Paramedics attempted to revive the boy but were unsuccessful.
