MADISON, Wis. (AP) — An 80-year-old Capitol protester is making a federal case out of the theft of his sign referring to President Donald Trump as a “draft-dodging, sadistic, racist, and confessed serial groper.”
Donald Johnson filed a federal lawsuit late Thursday against Republican state Rep. Dale Kooyenga, who admitted taking the sign in May.
The lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Madison seeks unspecified damages for the mental and emotional distress Johnson says Kooyenga caused by taking the sign, which Johnson alleges was a violation of his free speech rights.
