According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, one person has non-life threatening injuries after a high speed chase that ended in a crash early Wednesday morning.

Troopers say the crash happened on I-43 SB at CTH JJ in Brown County near Bellevue just after 2:00 a.m.

Brown County Sheriff’s office initiated a vehicle pursuit with a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt. Deputies say during that pursuit the driver of the Cobalt crashed while negotiating a curve. The driver of the vehicle was not wearing his seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle.

While on the scene, troopers say they found an 18 year-old Green Bay man, who may be under the influence of intoxicants. State Patrol Troopers investigated the driver for impairment. As a result the man was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated. He was also cited for Operating after Suspension, Failure to fasten seatbelt and Possession of open intoxicants. He was taken to the hospital for injuries.

Brown County Sheriff will be handling additional charges relative to the vehicle pursuit.

Troopers say there was one passenger in the vehicle, an 18-year-old De Pere woman. She was wearing a seat belt and was not hurt.

The names involved in this case are not being released at this time.
