GREEN BAY, Wis—Three people are without a home after an attic fire Sunday night.

It happened just before 9:00 p.m. in the 3300 block of Nautical Ave.

Upon arrival, the Green Bay Metro Fire Department says they could see heavy smoke and some fire showing through the roof.

Everyone was able to evacuate the home before crews arrived.

It took less than 10 minutes to knock down the fire, but crews remained on scene for about 3 hours to make sure the fire was completely out, and to salvage property.

The fire was found to have started in the attic, and spread from a metal fireplace chimney.

Damages are estimated around $80,000 dollars.

There were no injuries.

The Green Bay Metro Fire Department would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to have your chimneys and fireplaces cleaned and inspected by a professional regularly.
