Three people have been arrested for attempted homicide and false imprisonment in Manitowoc County.

On April 25 shortly after midnight Manitowoc County Sheriff's deputies responded to a residence in the town of Newton for a 57-year-old man with serious injuries to his head and body. The victim indicated he was taken against his will by three men in Chicago area, driven to the Manitowoc area where he was beaten, thrown into a nearby ditch and abandoned. Later the victim was able to walk to a nearby residence and request help. Once EMS arrived on scene he was transported to a local hospital for his injuries.

The Manitowoc County Sheriff's Office determined the victim was transported over state lines as an element of this crime. The Federal Bureau of Investigations offices in Green Bay and Chicago joined the investigation and later identified three men as suspects and confirmed they were residing in the Chicago area.

On May 12, the three men were taken into custody by the FBI in Chicago on felony warrants. On May 23, Manitowoc Co. Sheriff's Officers transported the three suspects to the Manitowoc County Jail.

All three suspects will have court appearances Thursday afternoon on charges of attempted homicide and false imprisonment.

The suspects are Marne Ferry, 28, Christopher Calalang, 28 and Christian Calalang, 34.
