School districts in Northeast Wisconsin report receiving what administrators call an automated threatening call saying a bomb was inside the building and it could be part of a nation wide series of calls.

The Oshkosh School District evacuated Oakwood Elementary in the Town of Algoma and canceled classes sending students and staff to the 20th Ave. YMCA.

Similar calls were reported at Edison Middle school in Green Bay where police and the school district determined the call was not credible.

Authorities say this could be an example of what's called  "swatting" against schools.
Thats when hoaxers use servers and high-tech tools to call in a  threat, and cause a huge police response.
Schools in Colorado, Delaware, Minnesota, New Hampshire and the United Kingdom also reported threats.
