Shopko and NBC26 are coming together to help victims of Hurricane Harvey.

For several days, we've been collecting donations to fill a truck which will drive down to the flood zone.

After just two days the truck has filled up with thousands of dollars of donations from Green Bay area residents.

"I believe in what's happening here. It's a miracle. I want to be part of it," said George Williams, donating supplies.

"We've had a steady stream of customers and community members coming in all day long, all day yesterday and we've accomplished a lot. It's not going to be long and this truck is going to be on its way to texas," said Michelle Hansen, Shopko Foundation.

One young family expecting a child soon decided to donate nearly $150 worth of materials. They say stories of children losing parents drives them to help.

"Since i'm going to be a dad soon, that thought really hit home. And i thought you have to make sure that other people don't suffer the same fate," said Loren Passehl, donating supplies.

If you'd still like to help out, you can drop off donations at the Shopko at Bay Park Square during store hours. Or, if you can't make it down to Shopko, you can stop by the NBC26 studio on North Rd. and drop off a donation anytime in the lobby.

"Only people are going to solve the problem. No matter how little your donations, no matter what you have, contribute it," said Williams.

"It's an honorable thing to do. My wife and i here are honored that we could help assist with the disaster down there," said Passehl.

FEMA says cleanup from Harvey could take years. These donations could help make that recovery a little easier.
