In honor of Veterans Week, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College honored troops by wearing red shirts Friday.

"R.E.D." stands for "remember everyone deployed." It's a way to recognize veterans and active duty military both on campus and overseas.

This was the first year the school participated.

"We do want to remember everyone that's currently deployed and anyone that's been deployed in the past," said Jeremy Galisca, veterans advisor at NWTC. "It's important that they understand that, how appreciative we are of their sacrifices for their service."

Galisca said he hopes wearing red shirts for our veterans will continue on for years to come.
