NBC26 has learned the prisoner who poured boiling water on a corrections officer has done it before at another prison. The victim in the Green Bay Correctional Institution continues to recover after suffering severe burns to the upper portion of his body.
The officer, John McKee, has not returned to work after the July 30 incident.

A source close to the investigation tells NBC26's Eric Crest the suspect in the Green Bay incident also threw boiling water at an officer in the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage. The violence has sparked an investigation to provide safer conditions for officers within the Department of Corrections.
