Overdoses and contraband drugs caused a lockdown at Oshkosh Correctional Institution in June, according to Department of Corrections documents obtained by NBC26.

During the lockdown, DOC officials found several inmates with the dangerous drug Fentanyl.

About 30 inmates were placed in temporary lock-up for alleged involvement with drugs. In addition to fentanyl, remnants of other substances and pills were found throughout the prison.

The immediate lockdown started June 1. Many areas of the jail were locked down for two weeks or more during the process.
