Oshkosh police identify suspect in December 2016 assault

The Oshkosh Police Department continues the investigation into a battery that occurred on Dec. 11, 2016 at about 1:30 a.m. in the 400 block of W. Lincoln Avenue in Oshkosh.

Through the investigation, Oshkosh Police have identified a suspect who battered a 20-year-old Greenville man. Michael Thor, 29, is wanted on a warrant for Aggravated Battery with Intent to Cause Bodily Harm from the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.

Thor is believed to be in California, but has ties to the Oshkosh area. 

On Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, it was reported to Oshkosh Police that a 20 year-old male from Greenville, WI was assaulted by a group of male individuals while he was walking in the area. The 20 year-old male victim was taken to Aurora Hospital in Oshkosh via ambulance; and later to Aurora Bay Care Hospital in Green Bay for his injuries.
