One person is dead and two others are injured after an apartment fire in Manitowoc.

The Manitowoc County coroner has identified the victim as 57-year-old Dana Bushman.

The cause of death will not be released until all testing is complete. A full autopsy will take 8 to 12 weeks, the county coroner said.

The Manitowoc Fire Department received a 911 call around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a fire on the third floor of the Parkview Haven Apartments. Multiple agencies responded to the fire.

"Crews quickly extinguished the fire, but unfortunately one person was found dead," Blaser said.

Police said they believe the fire started in Bushman's apartment. She was found in her apartment.

There are 90 apartment units in the complex, and 50 people were displaced during the fire. Officers say it could be weeks before those people can get back into their apartments.

Meanwhile, help is pouring in for the people displaced. The Salvation Army and Red Cross are helping to find temporary homes.

The local Piggly Wiggly is also offering support to those affected.

The Lakeshore Humane Society will be accepting pets for temporary shelter.

The investigation is ongoing and the cause of the fire is unknown.
