On Monday, November 21 the Dodge County Sheriff's Office received a call to check on the welfare of two males who were staying at a cabin in rural Reeseville.

According to a press release from the Dodge County Sheriff's Office, a family member of the two men reported that they were overdue to return home to Milwaukee from a weekend deer hunting trip.

The family also reported that they were unable to reach the men by phone.

Deputies say that when they responded to the scene they did not receive a response after knocking on the door, but they were able to see through a window that one of the men was laying unresponsive on the floor.

Deputies requested EMS and forced entry into the cabin.

Upon entry, deputies say they found one male deceased and the other with a potential life-threatening medical problem.

The surviving man was transported by paramedics to a nearby hospital and later transferred to an Intensive Care Unit in Madison.

Authorities have not yet released the status of his condition.

The Dodge County Medical Examiner is investigating the death with the Sheriff's Office.

A cause has not been definitely determined, but carbon monoxide and other environmental causes are being investigated.

The deceased male was a 46-year-old man from Milwaukee. The man who was transported by EMS was his 69-year-old father, also of Milwaukee.

Names and the specific location of the incident are being withheld at this time pending notification of relatives.
