This article has been updated to correct a sentence about explosions. Fire officials say there were no explosions from this fire.

Heavy smoke and flames were seen on Green Bay's East Side around 7:30 Sunday evening.

It happened at Contract Transport Services on Cofrin Drive.

Green Bay Police say a semi caught fire that ran on compressed natural gas.

As the fire engulfed the semi, people in the area reported hearing what sounded like explosions, but Green Bay Metro Fire's Assistant Fire Chief says the exploding sound was just tires popping from the fire.

Police say the surrounding neighborhood was then evacuated.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
