The Governor’s Easter Egg Hunt was canceled Thursday amid a nationwide manhunt focused on a Janesville man.

First Lady Tonette Walker announced in an email that the event for Sunday at the Wisconsin Executive Residence had been canceled due to, “a threat directed toward top government officials.”

Federal, state and local law enforcement have been looking for Joseph Jakubowski, a Janesville man accused of stealing 18 firearms from a gun store and mailing an anti-government manifesto to President Donald Trump.

Gov. Scott Walker decided earlier this week not to publicly announce his location for the time being while the manhunt continues.
