Local leaders believe Wisconsin will have more jobs now that Governor Walker signed the bill Monday to bring Foxconn Technology Group to Wisconsin.

According to the Department of Workforce Development, an economic impact study by Ernst and Young indicated the project would create 10,000 construction jobs per year over the next four to six years, and an additional 6,000 indirect jobs during the construction phase.

Leaders said the plant could also provide opportunities for suppliers and direct workers.

"From construction of the plant, to production of the product, through to logistics packaging, we have suppliers that can provide all those types of elements," said New North Senior Project Manager Connie Loden.

Bay Area Workforce Development Board Executive Director James Golembeski said Wisconsin has skilled workers the company could need.

"We're going to need people with machining, as machinist, and probably even more machine technicians," he said.

The Department of Workforce Development said an estimated 13,000 Foxconn jobs will be created when the plant is completed.
