A non-profit organization in Appleton is delivering some holiday surprises. Dawn Paradiso-Hansen, President and CEO of Compassionate Home Health Care, is playing Santa. She has been collecting personal care items, such as shampoo and cleaning supplies, along with other goodies from area donors. Now, as the holidays are upon us, she's going house to house to bring joy to those she serves who are living with disabilities.

"Imagine, if you will, at the end of the month not being able to buy toilet paper or being able to buy shampoo, so this campaign allows people to help provide just a little bit of something to somebody," explained Paradiso-Hansen.

Kinsley Tarr received her three bags of gifts on Friday.

"No one could afford this stuff without the donation, so I'm grateful," she said.

The Packers organization donated hats, gloves, socks, long underwear, and more. Other donations came from Forefront Dermatology Associates, the ShopKo Foundation, Houdini's Escape Gastropub Owner Eric Jacobson, and numerous restaurants and businesses.

Paradiso-Hansen says in five years of the Holiday Giving Campaign, this year was the most successful. The community donated enough items to help clients through next year.
