Some high schoolers are taking time off the soccer pitch, to help people in Texas devastated by Hurricane Harvey last week.

The Appleton North High School varsity boys’ soccer team got together Monday to do some team bonding.

So they worked together to assemble care packages to send to the victims of Hurricane Harvey.

“We’re getting together as a team and doing something for a good cause for other people that don’t have as many things as we do right now,” said Ryan Anselment, a student at Appleton North High School. “We’re just trying to help them out and make their day a little bit better because they’ve been having a rough week.”

The team says so far, they’ve put together three large boxes of supplies to send to Texas. They say items include necessities like toothbrushes and non-perishable food items.
