We're just a few weeks away from the total solar eclipse on August 21, and excitement is growing across the country.

While you won't be able to see the total solar eclipse from Wisconsin, a partial eclipse will be visible in the NBC26 viewing area. So when will be the prime time to see it?

The website Vox has a handy tool that lets you look up when it's visible in your area. Just visit their website here and type in your zip code to see!

According to their website, the best time to see the partial solar eclipse in the Green Bay area will be at 1:16:06 p.m. In the Appleton area, the best time is 1:15:56 p.m. In Marinette, it's 1:16:21 p.m.

If you want to see the total solar eclipse, you will have to travel to do so.

If the solar eclipse is not exciting enough, there will also be four planets visible during it: Mercury. Mars, Venus and Jupiter. The best places to see the planets are areas like Boise, Idaho, Kansas City and Nashville.

Remember, it'snever safe to stare directly at the sun, even during an eclipse. You could be at risk for severe eye damage if you do. To learn how to protect your eyes while viewing the eclipse, click here.
