After 100,000 diapers were stolen from the Fox Cities Diaper Bank earlier this year, it didn't take long for people to spring into action and help.

Since the theft, 400,000 diapers have been donated to the Fox Cities Diaper Bank, according to Nancy Micke with United Way Fox Cities.

Procter & Gamble was the latest company to donate, delivering 170,000 diapers on Wednesday.

In addition, United Way Fox Cities has recovered 8 pallets of stolen diapers, which they believe is about half of the initial estimate, or 50,000 diapers.

These donations come after Amazon made a surprise donation of 100,000 diapers and 200,000 baby wipes last week, traveling from an Amazon warehouse in Indiana, to Kenosha, to Appleton.

"We're really impressed as a company with what they do for the community," says Amazon MKE1 Kenosha assistant general manager John Henry, "and the last thing we wanted them to do is to worry about providing for the community."

Kimberly-Clark also donated 100,000 diapers through the Huggies No Baby Unhugged program.

Since news broke of the theft, there's been a big response from the community, according to the United Way Fox Cities.

"Not only did we receive this gift today, but we also heard from Kimberly-Clark Corporation that they will also be giving us a donation of 100,000 diapers today," says United Way Fox Cities VP of marketing and communication Nanci Micke, "and we'll be getting those sometime next week."

28 pallets of disposable diapers, and baby wipes will remain at the Appleton warehouse until they can be evenly divided among United Way's 12 partner agencies that help pass them out to families in need in the Fox Cities.

"Sometimes the choice that those families are making are putting food on the table," says Micke, "or having dry diapers for their children."

All of the donated diapers are now in the United Way Fox Cities' warehouse.
