Anglers in Wisconsin are ready to start fishing.

"It's been miserable with it being cold, snowy and rainy. Now we're kicking off the good weather and sun, great days of fishing all summer long, "said Ryan Rasmussen.

Ryan Rasmussen owns Smokey's Bait Shop in Green Bay and he says business is booming this week.

"It's been like crazy, stocking up on baits and the winter was kind of slow like it always is, and now people are getting out there and spending money," said Rasmuessen.

Kirk Kindsgrab and his family are enjoying the official first day of fishing.

"Right now they're practicing they're casting technique and I'd say that's about the best thing we got going today, but it's not out so we're here," said Kindsgrab.

While it's no surprise a lot of people want to bring home the big catch, most people I spoke with say, they just want to have a good time.

"We're doing here on bay beach, enjoying ourselves today with kids and opening fishing is a day to spend with the family," said Kindsgrab.

Whether you're a business owner or just love fishing, it's all part of the Wisconsin experience.

"It's a super big resource we have. A lot of people take advantage of it," said Rasmussen.

"I love it. I mean, whenever we get a chance, my family likes to come out and do a little fishing," said Kindsgrab.
