About a dozen fire departments responded to a barn fire at W7410 Rock Road in the Town of Ellington around 1:00 p.m. Thursday.

Ellington Fire Department Chief Mark Diedrich says the building was likely set up to be used as a calf barn. Calves in calf hutches had to be moved away from the burning building. There were no animals inside the building at the time of the fire.

The fire was extinguished and crews were able to leave the scene just after 4:00 p.m. Thursday.
