The City of Green Bay's Parks Committee has unanimously voted to try and keep the city's September 11th Memorial.

This comes just over two weeks since the memorial was decommissioned by the city during a special ceremony on September 11th.

City officials originally decided to take down the memorial due to errors with the names listed on it and its deteriorating condition due to weather.

Green Bay officials are now trying to determine their next step in finding a way to preserve the monument. Officials say fundraising is their likely method, but the project could cost thousands of dollars just to fix it.

They say another option is to put the memorial inside the building of the Green Bay Fire or Police Department.
