Suamico, Wi -- 12 homes lost water Wednesday night  until 11 am Thursday morning after a water main broke. 240 thousand gallons of water was lost in that water break.

The boil order will be lift once two tests are complete. The test takes about 18 hours to make sure there is a not harmful bacterium.

The boil water advisory impacts people and businesses that use the municipal water supply. Well water is not affected.

Brown County Emergency Management says to bring all the water to a boil for one minute and let it cool before using, or drink bottled water.

Boiled or bottled water should be used for making ice, drinking, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and food preparation.

Bay Harbor and Suamico Elementary schools used bottle water and potable water from other schools that were not affected by the boil order.  "The principals at the wee hours of 4:30 in the morning went out and got water for the classrooms" says Brian Nichol, the Communications Coordinator of the Howard-Suamico School District.

This quick action allowed the school day to continue without too much inconvenience. School officials also used potable water from non affected areas to ensure lunch time was also safe.
