It's been a difficult few days for Ashwaubenon Public Safety officers, but an outpouring of community support has helped the department after two-year veteran Officer Brian Murphy was injured by an alleged drunk driver Saturday.

According to Ashwaubenon Public Safety, Officer Murphy is no longer listed in critical condition.

Leaders with the department said he remains in the hospital and continues to recover. However, they are unable to speak about his specific medical condition for privacy reasons.

The community has sent Officer Murphy and his family well wishes on Facebook and in person, delivering gifts and food to the Ashwaubenon Public Safety office.

The department's dining table is filled with cards, deserts and sandwiches for Officer Murphy and his fellow officers.

They're grateful for the community's support, the department said.

"Right now our department is getting overwhelmed with the amount of food and gifts that are coming in, but we certainly appreciate and enjoy the fact that people are stopping in and giving their best wishes to Officer Murphy, his family, and our public safety family," said Capt. Jody Crocker.

Kalin McGuire, 28, of Greenleaf was charged Monday in Brown County court for allegedly driving drunk and hitting Officer Murphy on I-41 southbound near Oneida Street Saturday night.

Her blood alcohol level was .125 at the time, according to court documents. She is being held on a $20,000 cash bond.

The Brown County Sheriff's Office is leading the investigating and reconstructing the scene.
