Existing home sales weakened across the state in April 2017 in part due to a tightening inventory, according to the Wisconsin Realtor's Association (WRA).
The number of closed sales fell 10.7% compared to April 2016, with depleted inventories pushing higher median prices, reaching $171,000. The change in pricing represents a 6.9% increase from 2016.
"With so many buyers chasing so few homes, homes don't stay on the market very long," said WRA president and CEO Michael Theo. The tightening inventories have housing markets in a vice-grip across the country.
