Appleton Xavier made sure the third time was the charm, winning the WIAA D3 state boys basketball championship on Saturday at the Kohl Center. The Hawks dominated Prescott winning 73-47.
This was the third straight appearance in the state title game, but in the previous two, Xavier finished as state runner up. Nate De Young had 18 points and 18 rebounds for the Hawks, and Hunter Plamann led the way for Xavier with 29 points.
