The UWGB Women's basketball team beat UIC Monday night 65-31 at the Kress Center. Jessica Lindstrom carried the water for the ladies with 18 points and 13 rebounds in a win that the team needed in order to keep their conference championship hopes alive.
The Phoenix also got some help in their quest for a 19th consecutive conference championship. Wright State, who was two games up on UWGB in the Horizon League standings, was beaten 85-80 on the road at Detroit Mercy. The Wolves now lead the Phoenix by a single game. UWGB will travel to Wright State on Friday and could pull even with the Wolves with a win.
UWGB and Wright State each have just two games remaining on the conference schedule.
