GREEN BAY, Wis. (NBC 26) — Will Ryan guided UW-Green Bay to its biggest win of his short tenure Friday, as the Phoenix knocked off two-time defending Horizon League Tournament champion Northern Kentucky 86-82, snapping the Norse's six-game winning streak.

NKU surged back at the end of regulation, erasing a six point deficit in the final two minutes to force overtime. But the Phoenix rebounded to pull out the win.

The Green Bay women's basketball team also took care of business Friday, pulling away in the second half to beat Illinois-Chicago 80-56.

The game was tied at 45-45 in the third quarter before the Phoenix exploded for a 11-0 to close out the quarter.

Appleton North alumna Sydney Levy sparked the Phoenix with 14 points in the second half. She had a season-high 17 for the game, including five three-pointers. Jasmine Kondrakiewicz led the Phoenix with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Both teams play at the Kress Center against the same teams again on Saturday.
