GREEN BAY, Wis. (NBC 26) — After three great years in Green Bay, Jesse Tucker's name is now rightfully in the Gamblers history books.

Last Friday, the third-year player set the new franchise record for career assists with 86.

"I always thought my greatest asset of my game was play-making," Tucker said. "I can score goals as well... As long as our team gets two points a night for the standings, I can't complain."

"We were waiting for that next assist," head coach Pat Mikesch said. "We wanted to make sure we got the puck for him. It's something that he'll keep forever. That's a special one for Jesse to keep."

Mikesch said the record is a credit to Tucker's consistency and longevity - in a league where players don't often stay for more than two seasons.

"It's unique to see a player that has three years of success in our league," he said. "Jesse easily could have been off to college this year but having him back has been extremely valuable to us."

And in those three seasons, Tucker - a native of Longlac, Ontario - has grown to love Titletown.

"Green Bay is always going to be a part of my heart for the rest of my life and the coaching staff as well," he said "These three years have been nothing but special."

"He's really grown to love Green Bay," Mikesch added. "He loves wearing his Aaron Jones jersey around the rink. He's one of those kids that it's great that the record book marks everything that he has accomplished here because he's been special for us."

Tucker is committed to play college hockey at Michigan State beginning next season. First, he hopes to make a playoff run with the Gamblers.

Green Bay has six regular season games remaining, including a four-game home stand which starts Wednesday night at the Resch Center.
