Last night in game one of the NBA finals the Warriors beat up on the Cavs 104-89 to take a 1-0 series lead. They earned the victory largely with their bench, Shawn Livingston was killing the smaller guards from Cleveland, he had 20 points, Andre Iguoala added 21 points and also played some of the best defense of the playoffs. Golden State got next to a no-show from their two stars and still beat the Cavs by double digits. Which brings me to my point... Are there any two people in the country who felt worse watching that game than Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant? This finals series looks like it's over. It looks like it won't even be close and it could have easily been the Thunder in this position. OKC had a 3-1 lead on the Warriors in the Western Conference finals. They could have been the team up 1-0 on Cleveland if not for Steph Curry and his buddy Klay too. Can we please dispatch someone to go check on those guys? I fully expect Westbrook to be burning with the furry of a thousand suns and Durant to be aimlessly wandering from outdoor court to outdoor court with some sort of Tom Hanks in "Castaway" beard. Durant just challenging passers by to one on one games, knocking down threes as he tells his story of woe. "I could have been a contender!" Seriously though, someone go check on those guys... Im worried.
