The Green Bay Packers hosted their second open practice of the OTA schedule Thursday and a couple of things stood out. Number one: rookie receiver Trevor Davis has serious potential. To be fair to Davis and to temper fan expectations the receiver position is packed here in Green Bay so it may take a while to see this fifth round pick pay dividends however, his speed on the field is undeniable and his hands are sure enough to have drawn effusive praise from Randall Cobb today. Cobb saying quote "I don't know if I've seen him drop a ball yet." Number two: This packer defense might be special, that secondary can flat out fly around weather you're talking about Burnett and Cinton-Dix at the safety positions or that battery of corner backs led by Sam Shields and Damarious Randall. They got their hands of a lot of balls today, picked off a few, don't freak out Rodgers fans Aaron didn't throw them. Finally it feels like there's a unity around this team, maybe it's due to all the key injuries they had to overcome last year, maybe it's just a group that fits, but packer fans there's reason to be excited. I mean hey.... why not be, It's the off season, even if I'm wrong it's more fun to spend the next three months thinking I'm right?
