Southern Door takes down Oconto, Pavlik sets hits record

The Southern Door Eagles ended their regular season in dramatic fashion with a 3-2 ninth inning win over the Oconto Blue Devils on Thursday night.

Tied at two in the bottom of the ninth, center fielder Erin Tadych hit a ground ball back to the mound. Left fielder Tehya Bertrand dove head-first into home plate, beating out the throw for the game-winning run. 

Shortstop Megan Pavlik became the all-time hits leader in Southern Door history after recording her 123rd career hit. 

Oconto suffered its first conference loss of the season falling to 20-4 overall, and 13-1 in the Packerland Conference. Southern Door improved to 17-6 overall, and 12-2 in the Packerland Conference.
