Alongside their "banged up" quarterback, the Packers returned to practice Wednesday leading up to their matchup against the NFC North leading Vikings.
Aaron Rodgers (shoulder) and Eddie Lacy (groin) participated fully, while Bryan Bulaga (knee), T.J. Lang (shoulder), among other were limited due to injuries.
Lacy making strides, optimistic for Sunday
He's still the No. 2 running but Eddie Lacy is making progress to be able to play on Sunday.
Lacy was inactive against the Lions due to the limitations for a nagging groin injury.
"I was able to make cuts at the line but when it came to opening up and bursting down field I didn’t feel as comfortable with it," Eddie Lacy said. He has carried the ball 83 times for 308 yards and two touchdowns this season. "But today I was able to do that."
Baring any setback, Lacy was confident he'll be ready to play in Minnesota.
Beating press coverage is a necessity for Packers
A deep ball? Sure. Using different formations and route combinations? Yes. Be tougher? That would work too.
Head coach Mike McCarthy noted that the wide receiver core has faced more press coverage in recent weeks. The Packers ability to get off the line of scrimmage could help open up the offense.
"There were a few that we let get away from us," Davante Adams said. Aaron Rodgers targeted the wide receiver 21 times - 10 receptions - in their loss to the Lions. "The offense is relying on us to do it and we know we’re a lot better than having drops, miscues and allowing defenses us to hold us."
The wide receiver group has taken a lot of responsibility for the Packers offensive struggles.
