The Packers released three time Pro Bowl offensive lineman Josh Sitton. Reports say Green Bay tried to trade Sitton before making their final cuts down to the 53 man roster.
Sitton is entering the final year of his five year contract. He was scheduled to make $6.4 million in base salary and roster bonuses this season.
In eight seasons with the Packers, Sitton appeared in 121 games, starting 112 of them. But he battled back problems last season. He dropped some weight and came into training camp this year 20 pounds lighter.
