As thousands of runners prepare to cross the Cellcom Marathon finish line Sunday, even more volunteers and fans are ready to cheer them on along the course.
From those running their first 5K, like 9-year-old Chloe Smithson, to more experienced runners, it's a special feeling.
"I'm excited to run," Smithson said.
There will be several spots along both the half marathon and marathon routes for fans to watch. For the half marathon, there are designated spectator areas at miles 3.6, 9.8 and 12.5. For the marathon, they are located at the halfway point, mile 20, and mile 24.5.
However, race director Toni Jaeckels also encourages people to watch from their homes in neighborhoods and other quiet areas where runners may need some extra motivation.
"Runners just love encouragement," she said.
Green Bay Distillery is the last water station for the marathon runners, making it an important spot for cheerleaders.
"Encourage the runners, cheer them on, it definitely helps them out so we're always glad to do that as well," said Kaylee Jerome from Green Bay Distillery.
For the best view of the runners, head inside Lambeau Field through the Mills Fleet Farm gate. The last leg of the half and full marathons head through the stadium.
If you're looking to avoid the road closures and marathon traffic, Jaeckels said to stay away from Lambeau Field and the surrounding area. Both the half and full marathon start and end at Lambeau.
Busy intersections surrounding the marathon may be open at certain points if there are not many runners on the course.
"As we get closer to that two hour mark for the half marathon, or 3-4 hour mark for the full marathon, the roads will thin out," said Jaeckels.
The biggest change this year will be parking, according to race organizers. Because of Titletown District construction, all runners and spectators are asked to park on the east side of Lambeau, or at businesses in the surrounding area.
