Young wide receivers look to make name for themselves in Green Bay

The Packers 12 wide receivers at training camp have all shown a lot of potential but the reality is, there isn't a lot of open spots up for grabs on the 53 man roster.

"We have a lot of established guys in the room and we have guys like myself that are fighting for jobs," rookie wide receiver Malachi Dupre said. "It brings out the best in all of us."

Dupre and fellow rookie wide receiver DeAngelo Yancey are both 2017 draft picks for the Packers. Add in four free agents and the Packers have a lot of fresh blood in the receiving department.

The problem is, all seven of last years active roster receivers are back in 2017 so the only way to make the final roster is to take someone else's job.

"There's only so many people that can be here but every one of us is trying to get better every single day," Dupre said.

Last year, undrafted free agent singing Geronimo Allison proved how vital depth at wide receiver is to the Packers.

"It happens every year, midway through the year we need a young guy to step up," veteran receiver Jody Nelson said. "Last year it was Geronimo."

Only time will tell who will be next.
