Three Green Bay Packers have reservations set for Hawaii on January 31 at the Pro Bowl, barring a trip to Super Bowl 50.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, guard Josh Sitton and linebacker Clay Matthews all got the nod for an experience they've been part of before.
620WTMJ Packers analyst Mark Tauscher, a former teammate of all three of them, praised Rodgers and Sitton but gave special kudos to Matthews after his full-time move to the inside of the defense.
"To get that nod as a Pro Bowler is a testament to playing within the team concept and making plays," said Tauscher, who said "a couple more guys probably could have gotten" Pro Bowl berths.
"T.J. Lang is a guy playing at a really high level as well. He has not gotten that call-up."
Meanwhile, the Packers will take a short Christmas break before heading down to Arizona for possibly their toughest game of 2015, against the Arizona Cardinals.
Tauscher said playing on Christmas Day is both "a lot of fun" and an expectation with the national television audiences that can follow.
"I had a touchdown pass that I caught that unfortunately was pulled back...a fun day," he said about playing on Christmas in 2005.
The year before was an even more fun memory, at Minnesota.
"One of my favorite memories was playing up in Minnesota on a Friday (Christmas Eve). It was for the division. We beat them up there in what was just a slugfest. We got back and, man, it was such an enjoyable Christmas because you had the weekend off."
