Rodgers finishes 5th in total Pro Bowl voting

Posted

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the NFL's MVP, finished 5th among all players in the final fan vote for the sport's all-star game held one week before the Super Bowl.

Rodgers finished with 510,374 votes, about 91,000 votes short of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for 1st in Pro Bowl voting.

Among other Packers:
- Guard Josh Sitton finished second at his position, with 150,907 votes.

The league did not initially release defensive players' vote totals, just offense and specal teams.

The NFL will reveal the roster at 7 p.m. CT Tuesday night. NFL legends will break up the final 88 players into two rosters on January 27, with the game on January 31 in Honolulu.

Remember: The fan vote only counts for one third of the final choosing of roster. Players and coaches determine the other two-thirds percentage for the final decisions on the 88 players who make the game.

Of course, the hope for Packers fans is that their team will not have any representatives participating, since they would be playing in Super Bowl 50 and would be busy preparing for the biggest game in American sport.
