A report says the Green Bay Packers are letting go a running back who contributed to the team's eight-game winning streak and run to the NFC Championship Game last year.

ESPN's Adam Schefter and Field Yates report the Packers "plan to release RB Christine Michael."

In 2016, he played six regular season games and three postseason games. The first eight of those games were wins.

He rushed for a combined 172 yards and a touchdown, touching the ball 49 times. He also returned three kickoffs for 64 yards.

The Packers have drafted three running backs in recent days, potentially leading to the personnel move.

Fellow running back Don Jackson said his life also has "a new plan," thanking the Packers organization.
