Another name joins the list of offseason Green Bay Packers acquisitions: Dr. Robert Anderson.
The former Carolina Panthers assistant team physician is joining Bellin Health's new clinic in the Titletown District, which is scheduled to open July 24. Anderson is one of America's leading foot and ankle surgeons and a Wisconsin native. He attended medical school at Milwaukee's Medical College of Wisconsin and completed his orthopedic fellowship there, too.
Some of Anderson's most famous clients include Derek Jeter, Eli Manning, Julio Jones, Kyle Busch, Kevin Durant, Miguel Cabrera and Cam Newton. Anderson has also worked with Packers sustaining ankle injuries, including center Corey Linsley, running back Ty Montgomery and former Packer Eddie Lacy.
"I'm ecstatic about it," said Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy. "I think it's not only a great thing for the Green Bay Packers, it's a tremendous asset to our community. Dr. Anderson is the best in the business."
He said every foot and ankle injury conversation McCarthy has had with medical staff as a coach in the NFL involves Anderson.
"His name always comes up. It's been that way for 20 years," McCarthy said. "Having Dr. Anderson in our community is outstanding."
The Titletown district facility will be open to the public, offering walk-in injury assessments. The clinic, which is just west of Lambeau Field, will also serve as a medical facility for Packers players as Bellin Health is the team's official healthcare partner.
