Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson has been named the 2016 NFL Comeback Player of the Year by the Professional Football Writers of America.
Nelson missed all of 2015 after suffering a season-ending right knee injury in the preseason, but rebounded this year to start in all 16 regular season games. He finished with 1,257 yards on 97 catches, including a league-high 14 touchdown receptions.
Nelson is the second Packers player to win the award. Fellow receiver Robert Brooks was honored in 1997.

Whether Nelson plays this week against the Falcons is still up in the air, though. He missed last Sunday’s win in Dallas with a pair of cracked ribs suffered in the Giants game.
He has been limited in practice this week, but head coach Mike McCarthy has yet to make a decision on his status for Sunday in Atlanta. Number two receiver Davante Adams is also banged up, missing practice this week with a sprained ankle injury he suffered late against the Cowboys.
