Pregame story
Again, the Green Bay Packers' season is not necessarily on life support, but needing major help.
The Packers can help themselves by turning their win Monday night in Philadelphia into a mini-win streak today with their showdown with the Houston Texans.
The Texans are unfamiliar opponents. They play Green Bay once every four years, once every eight years at Lambeau Field.
Injury and struggle are not unfamiliar opponents this year to the Packers, a team normally focusing on playoff seedings in December, not fighting for their playoff lives.
Obviously, the key is health for the Packers, and the news of Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews' health has dominated the week.
Yet, the win over Philadelphia has brought a sense of hope that was missing for 39 days - the length of time between the Philadelphia win and the previous triumph in October against Chicago.
Will the Packers rise to 6-6 and a reasonable chance to resurrect hope for an eighth straight playoff spot? Or will they fall to 5-7 and on true life support in a football sense?
Stay tuned.
