Pregame story

Today begins the Green Bay Packers' second act for 2016, a chance to rise above the average performance their record dictates was the story of their first act.

Today, in Nashville, the Packers can continue their recovery from debilitating injuries, a list that still bedevils them with no Clay Matthews or Damarious Randall in the lineup, but with a healthier offense including a fully-available Randall Cobb.

Today can again begin a renaissance for the Packers' offense, one which had come alive for six straight quarters against Chicago and Atlanta, but one which went moribund for three quarters against Indianapolis last week.

Today can begin a run of dominance again for a Packers run defense against a Titans team which loves to ru the football - both at the running back and quarterback slot.

Most importantly, today can become a day of a changed path for 2016, one where the Packers (and 30 other franchises) have never traveled - that of a 4-4 team becoming a world champion.

Stay tuned.
