Pregame story

Is this the moment of reckoning for the Green Bay Packers and their 2016 playoff hopes? Or is this a moment of a turnaround?

Monday night in Philadelphia, the Packers have what perhaps may not technically be a must-win game, but is definitely one in essence.

The 4-6 Packers have lost four straight games. Their defense has given up 40-plus points in two straight games and 30-plus points in all four losses.

That does not bode well for the Packers entering tonight against a diversified Eagles attack with Carson Wentz at quarterback. The pass rush will need to get home, but could it be sacrificed with Clay Matthews possibly going to the middle linebacker spot to help against the run with an injury-depleted ILB corps?

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers' offense may have to be in higher gear than they've been all year. If Rodgers gets pass protection, the opportunities may be there for such a big night.

A season might be at stake tonight. Stay tuned.
